Artificial Intelligence (AI) is a hot topic in the tech world, generating both enthusiasm and worry. People are excited to integrate AI into their professional lives, but there is also concern about the potential job displacement.

Prominent figures like OpenAI CEO, Sam Altman and Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella have expressed concerns about AI's impact on employment.

However, Union Minister Rajeev Chandrasekhar holds a different view, suggesting that AI's current limitations in logic and reasoning make significant job losses unlikely for now.

The Limitations of AI in Reasoning

According to an ANI report, Minister Chandrasekhar responded to concerns regarding AI's impact on human jobs. He stated that he doesn't see a significant threat of job replacement in the near future.

The minister pointed out that the current stage of AI development is mainly focused on specific tasks and lacks advanced reasoning and logic.

He emphasised that jobs often involve reasoning and logical thinking, areas where AI currently has limitations.

The minister highlighted the gap between AI's existing capabilities and the complexity of human job roles, suggesting that the impact of AI on employment might not be as extensive as some anticipate.

AI Regulation

The Minister also addressed AI regulation in India, emphasising the country's commitment to protecting its digital citizens.

He expressed that AI would be regulated similarly to Web 3 and other emerging technologies to prevent harm to users.

According to a report by ANI, he emphasised the significance of Indian companies reducing risks for their users.
