Ahead of the third phase of polling in Odisha, missing toddler Pihu’s mother Monalisha Nayak and her other family members have decided to boycott the poll. They have put up a banner in this regard in front of their house at Madhusudan Nagar under Binjharpur Police Station in Jajpur district.

As per the family sources, they have also written about their decision to the Election Commission and the district administration.

The family members alleged that Pihu went missing on August 9, 2020. However, the State government and public representatives didn’t provide any kind of help to find the missing girl. Hence, they have decided to boycott the poll.

“Four and half years have passed and we are still ignorant where our daughter has gone. The administration has not at all helped us in finding our Pihu. When I wanted to meet the Prime Minister during his Odisha visit to demand CBI inquiry to find out Pihu, we were prevented by security personnel. Hence, we have decided to boycott the poll,” said Pihu’s mother Monalisha Nayak.

However, no reactions could be obtained from the police and district administration in response to the allegations by Pihu’s family members.

Notably, before going missing, Pihu was last seen playing on the village road. Though Monalisha staged protests several times and even approached the Orissa Human Rights Commission, it was of no use.

The State government and police had assured to trace her daughter, but nothing happened. She had even written to the President of India through the District Collector seeking permission for euthanasia.

Earlier, she had urged the Odisha government to initiate a CBI investigation into the matter.
