In 2017, as many as 57 teachers from different districts were chosen to be honoured at state-level felicitation ceremony which was supposed to be held on September 5, 2018 in Bhubaneswar to mark Teachers’ Day.
Among the felicitated teachers was Ishwar Chandra Nayak from Odisha. He presently serves at Kanapur Primary School under Sagada Panchayat of Nimapara area.
In a tragic incident, over 50 people were injured after a high-rise swing malfunctioned mid-air and crashed down from a height of 50-ft. The incident reportedly took place during a fair in Dussehra ground in Punjab's Mohali on Sunday (4 September).
