The matter came to light on Monday, when the 30-year-old woman, a resident of East Rohtash Nagar, approached filed her complaint at the Shahdara police station.
One of the detained students somehow managed to escape and informed the police. Later, a team from Badagada Police Station rushed to the spot and rescued the detained students.

As per reports, Ranjan had past enmity with the victim’s younger brother. It is alleged that Ranjan had called the victim to a place and had threatened and thrashed him by identifying himself as the Inspector-in-charge of Airfield Police Station.
