Acting on a tip-off, a team of the Boudh Model police station conducted a raid in Bidamaska forest near Dimbirikhol village and seized 1,560 kg of ganja, Superintendent of Police Raj Prasad said.

The Vigilance sleuths on Thursday unearthed assets worth crores during simultaneous raids on the properties of the Regional Transport Officer (RTO) of Boudh district, Basanta Kumar Mohapatra.

Following the explosion, the injured jawans were shifted to Kantamal Community Health Centre (CHC) for treatment. They were later taken to Bhima Bhoi Medical College and Hospital in Bolangir. While one jawan sustained injuries to his head, another suffered serious wounds on his leg.

The girl, identified as a First Year Plus-III Arts student and a resident of Helei village under Kiakata police limits in Boudh, was returning home on her bicycle after college. She stopped all of a sudden on the bridge and jumped into the Mahandi. 

As per reports, the encounter broke out during a combing operation by the security personnel in the jungle when they spotted the Maoists and their camp. The ultras fired shots at the police following which the security forces retaliated.
