Water Resources Junior Engineer found hanging in Odisha’s Boudh, suicide suspected

The body of a Junior Engineer (JE) working in the Water Resources Department was found hanging in his government quarters at Boudh on Wednesday evening.

The deceased has been identified as Pradeep Kumar Ghosh.

Sources said Ghosh attended a feast at his office yesterday afternoon. After the feast, he returned to his quarters and locked himself up.

His colleagues knocked on his door in the evening but he did not respond. They broke open the back door and found him hanging from the ceiling fan.

reportedly seemed upset for the last few days for some reason. However, his family members, when contacted over the phone, denied any prevalent tension in the family. They did not find any abnormality in his behaviour too.

While it is suspected that Ghosh hanged himself to end his life, the exact reason behind his death is yet to be ascertained.

Meanwhile, the police have launched a probe into the case.

The police are yet to make any statements in this connection.
