Bhubaneswar: Former chief secretary Sudhanshu Bhusan Mishra today stressed that Odisha Climate Change Action Plan must be reviewed for its successful implementation.
Speaking on the concluding day of the 5th Odisha Environment Congress (OEC) 2014 here he observed that the plan drafted in 2010 is required adaptation for climate change mitigation.
He emphasized on the implementation of rural models of climate change action and said that the state should involve local communities in a grand scale.
Odisha Development Commissioner U N Behera expressed his pleasure as the state was the first state in preparing a draft on climate change action plan.
In the valedictory session, former Member Board of Revenue Aurobindo Behera, Joint Secretray Rajya Sabha Satya Narayan Sahoo, former RTI Commissioner Jagadanand, eminet environmentalist Prof Radha Mohan, former advisor to the Election Commission of India Bhagban Prakash, former Vice Chancellor of Utkal University Binayak Rath and MLA Priyadarshi Mishra felicitated the scientists.
