Bhubaneswar: Odisha government on Saturday will hold a meeting with the millers and farmers’ representatives from all districts here to discuss procurement of kharif paddy which will begin from November 15.
Food Supply and Consumer Welfare minister Sanjay Dasburma on Friday said procurement target will be fixed in the meeting.
During the meet, feedback from the farmer representatives on their yield will be sought. Problems on the e-pass system will be also discussed in the meeting, Dasburma added.
The department directed all the district collectors to hold district-level procurement committee meetings to fix the target, the minister added.
The district collectors under the northern range will meet on November 4 regarding the procurement while collectors under the southern range will discuss the matter on November 6 at Berhampur, the minister said.
Similarly, central range collectors will be having discussion at Cuttack on November 7.
