Bhubaneswar: In a review meeting at State Secretariet here, Chief minister Naveen Patnaik on Thursday directed the district collectors to expedite the dispersal of agricultural input subsidies to the farmers in drought affected areas.
One lakh farmers have been provided with Rs 40cr agriculture input subsidy already.
Though the chief minister expressed satisfaction over the significant input subsidy distribution in the districts like Bargarh, Bolangir, Sambalpur, Subarnapur, Angul, Koraput and Rayagarha, he directed the collectors to maintain the process in other drought hit districts as well.
Similarly, the chief minister has also asked the Superintendent of Police (SP) of all the districts along with the Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) and Inspector General (IG) of the circles to keep a stern eye on the money lending business prevailing at the drought hit areas in the State.
3, 91,000 houses have been built under the Rural house scheme till now. However it aims to set up 7 lakh houses by end of 2015.
The chief minister has also directed to the concerned collectors to speed up the land acquisition process for the Biju express way and Vijayawada-Ranchi corridor.
