Bhubaneswar: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Monday conducted simultaneous raids at 20 places including Balasore, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Khurda and Jajpur districts in Odisha and Delhi owned by Green Ray International and persons associated with the chit-fund company.
In a media briefing, the CBI said residences of Green Ray chief chief Mir Sahiruddin, Mir Tahiruddin, Jamiruddin and Abu Saha were searched. The central investigating agency also raided the houses of Gopal Patra, Gobind Patra and Nurul Hossain.
Before the CBI took over the chit fund scam probe, the Economic Offence Wing of Odisha Crime Branch investigated the Green Ray scam. The State investigating agency had written to the Home department to confiscate 19 acres of the company.
Green Ray, which started business in 2005, had collected over Rs 100 crore from the gullible investors with the promise of handsome return.
Cases have been registered at 12 places against the company
