A student of DAV Chandrasekharpur has secured an impressive 99.997 percentile to emerge as Odisha topper in the recently announced Joint Entrance Examination (JEE Main) 2024. Anvesh Subham Pradhan from Bhubaneswar has emerged Odisha topper in the JEE Main, result of which was published by the National Testing Agency (NTA) on Wednesday. 

He is also a recipient of Pradhan Mantri Rashtriya Bal Puraskar-2021. He was then congratulated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi through video conferencing. He has won more than 600 certificates in different Olympiads, competitions and events.

Speaking to TOI, Anvesh said, “Mathematics and Chemistry are my favourite subjects. I was giving extra effort to Physics. I was focusing on practice sets before appearing for the test. In the exam, I answered the easy questions first.”

A topper since school days, Anvesh aims to make a career in research. “My preferences are IIT Bombay, IIT Madras and IIT Delhi. I will choose Computer Science or Mathematics and Computing as subject of my study,” he added.

Speaking about preparation strategy of Anvesh, his father Manas Ranjan Pradhan revealed how his son was trying to stay away from mobile phones as much as possible.

“He only had 30 minutes of screen time per day. He was doing yoga, meditation and walking to stay motivated and calm. He is a chess player with a standard FIDE rating of 1479. He has a wonderful habit of managing time,” said Anvesh’s father.

Anvesh’s mother who has done PG in Chemistry also helped him with his studies. This apart, Anvesh has now entered the final stage of the international Chemistry Olympiad, which will start in Mumbai this week.
