Torture case: HC bars arrest of Trailokya Mishra, family till July 29
Cuttack: The Orissa High Court today gave interim relief from arrest to industrialist Trailokya Mishra, his son Sabyasachi and wife Ashamanjari till July 29.
The court, on the other hand, asked the police to submit the case diary before July 29.
The directive of the court came while hearing two advance bail petitions filed by Mishra, his wife and son.
Hearing another petition filed on behalf of Lopamudra Mishra, daughter-in-law of Trailokya Mishra, the court directed the opposite party to refrain from threatening her.
Notably, Lopamudra had filed a dowry harassment case against Trailokya Mishra, her husband Sabyasachi and mother-in-law in the Mahila Police station in Bhubaneswar on June 14 this year.
She had also told the media that she had been physically and mentally tortured by her husband since their marriage in 2006. She even accused her husband of making an attempt at wife-swapping on her.
Acting on the complaint, Commissionerate police on June 17 had issued a notice to Trailokya Mishra, his wife and son asking them to be present physically before the Kharvela Nagar police by June 22.
Since all three are absconding, the notice was pasted on their house here.
Lopamudra had also filed a case against her husband and in-laws in Kharavela Nagar Police Station in April this year.
