Kendrapara: A skill development and training centre, Pradhan Mantri Koushal Kendra (PMKK), was inaugurated by MP Baijayant Panda in Ramnagarpatna of Kendrapara district here on Saturday.
The Centre is aimed at providing skills and employment opportunities to students to make their services relevant to industries in the district. Initially, 1000 students have been selected for training into different courses which will be free of cost.
The PMKK will offer skill training courses in various sectors including Fitter, Electrician, Welding, Driving, BPO, Retail and other appliances.
At the end of the training, the students will get a certificate and the firm will help them in getting jobs, sources said.
“1000 students will be provided free training in the first year. Amongst them, they will be designated in fitter, welder, driving, hotel industries and newly opened retail centres. This has been done for the progress of Kendrapara,” said Baijayant.
