BJD alleges politicisation of CBI probe into chitfund scam
Bhubaneswar: A day after CBI quizzed BJD’s office secretary and Naveen Patnaik’s personal aide Saroj Sahu, party spokesperson Pratap Dev has alleged that vested interest is involved in the investigation.
“Yes, he (Saroj) is an employee of the BJD’s State office. No doubt, he communicates between Naveen Niwas and party office. But, it is confirmed from the media report that CBI probe is not transparent. It is now being politicised” Dev said.
Hitting out at OJM leader Pyari Mohan, he said “It is known from Pyari Mohapatra’s statement before camera that CBI is now targeting only BJD leaders and workers”.
“I can assert that Pyari with the help of another leader supported filing PIL in Supreme Court” Dev added.
On the other hand, Congress leader and former opposition chief whip Prasad Harichandan said questioning CM’s personal aide is very important.
“Now, Naveen can’t ignore the chitfund scam saying personal affairs of the leaders who were arrested or interrogated”, Harichandan said.
The CBI questioned Saroj Sahu for over one hour in its office. After coming out of the office, he reacted to media saying that he answered all the questions posed by CBI. However, he refused to reveal about the questions being asked to him.
While Sahu claimed ignorance about the reason behind CBI calling him, sources said the investigators wanted to interrogate him on the basis of certain information obtained during the grilling of broker Subhankar Nayak, who had been arrested by the central agency on November 18 in connection with the ponzi scheme scandal.
