The body of Chittaranjan, a native of Sanabandhakera village under Brahmagiri Block of Puri district, was found dead under mysterious circumstances near Nuanai on December 13.
The three accused-Jagannath Sarangi alias Jaga, his associate and a woman- were brought to the State Forensic Science Laboratory in Rasulgarh of Bhubaneswar where their lie-detection test was conducted by the police.
Chittaranjan Palai, a key aide of BJD leader and deputy chairman of State Planning Board Sanjay Das Burma, was found dead under mysterious circumstances near Nuanai in Puri district on December 13.
The investigation is underway and all possible angles are being taken into account. Statements of witnesses have been recorded and lie detection test will be conducted if needed, Crime Branch ADG Sanjeev Panda said.
Crime Branch (CB) officials questioned Burma’s PSO, Sarbeswar Jena and the nephew of Palai, Dillip who were also present at the feast hosted by one Jagannath Sarangi on that fateful night.
