Sam is all set for her upcoming Shaakuntalam. While the actress is busy with promotions, fans are eagerly waiting for Sam’s comeback on the big screen. Scheduled for theatrical release on April 14, the movie is a historical drama based on a popular play Abhignyana Shakuntalam by Kalidasa. With the release date inching closer, anticipation among fans is escalating.

On the work front, Samantha will be next seen with Varun Dhawan in Citadel. She is also gearing up for the release of her upcoming movie ‘Shaakuntalam’.

Her friends and fans also congratulated her for successfully completing 13 years in the industry.

The actress left her fans guessing as she shared a cryptic post on her Instagram handle, talking about battle and kindness.

Reports suggest the makers are currently ‘trying hard’ to convince her and have also created a small role for her in the movie.

She also lit a camphor diya and tweeted on the same. She was accompanied by her 'Jaanu' movie director C. Premkumar and other friends.

Earlier, there were reports that Samantha had bought the house where she used to live with her ex-husband Naga Chaitanya.

A news portal shared a few pictures from the trailer launch event and captioned the post, “Feeling sad for Samantha. She lost all her charm and glow. When everyone thought she came out of divorce strongly and her professional life is seeing heights, myositis hit her badly, making her weak again.”

Naga was previously married to Samantha after co-starring together in Manam, Majili, Ye Maaya Chesave and Autonagar Surya. They got married in 2017 and announced their separation in October last year.

Samantha on Saturday shared a picture with a long caption in which she informed that she got diagnosed with an autoimmune condition called Myositis. Further, she went on the say that she is one more day closer to recovery. 

Ormax Media recently released the ‘Most Popular Female Stars’ list, and Samantha was on the top of the list, leaving behind top actresses like Alia Bhatt and Nayanthara.

The film, which is based on the popular play 'Shakuntala' by Kalidasa, has Samantha playing the titular role and Dev Mohan playing Dushyanta.
