Be it cyber crime or economic offences, Odisha Police is trying its best to tackle such menace apart from regular policing and crackdown on narcotics, said DGP Sunil Bansal.

As per reports, Kadaiska was picked by CRPF and police on suspicion of being a Maoist and taken to Chandrapur Police Station in Rayagada district in 2010. He allegedly succumbed to injuries due to third degree in the custody of the security forces on June 3, 2010.

The saffron party is taking such a step in protest against the alleged police excesses on Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) activists while they were marching towards the Odisha Assembly on Tuesday over alleged deteriorating law and order situation particularly following the murder of minister Naba Das. 

Odisha BJP President Samir Mohanty alleged that some people with vested interests created trouble and some police officers attacked BJP activists to please and prove their loyalty to the state government.

The saffron party has accused the police of thrashing many of their workers leaving them seriously injured during their protest against Naba Das murder case and alleged deteriorating law and order situation in the State.

Basanti, who was deputed at Malkangiri College on Sunday, not only provided all necessary help to an Odisha Police Constable Recruitment Examination aspirant but also took care of the latter’s four-month-old daughter like a mother.

Earlier, the Odisha government had approved the proposal to allow Graduate Constables and CI Havildars to investigate certain petty offenses under certain Minor Acts having punishments of up to 3 years.

While staging a demonstration on the Odisha Assembly premises on the first day of the budget session, Mishra claimed that the health minister’s killing was ‘government-sponsored’ and suspected the involvement of 5T Secretary VK Pandian and Jajpur MLA Pranab Prakash Das in the crime.

Briefing the media, the top cop said, “It is tough to unravel the mystery in two or four days in such cases. Even though some facts have emerged, it will take some time.”
