The anti-Maoist movement in Odisha is going to have more teeth as Odisha police has decided to procure sophisticated weapons including corner shot weapons and ultra-modern drones.
Naxal movement is almost zero in Koraput and Malkangiri while there is some activity in the bordering areas of Kandhamal, Boudh, and Kalahandi.
Odisha DGP Sunil Bansal said Director Intelligence, ADG Operations, officials posted in naxal areas including SPs, DIGs are attending the review meeting along with senior officials of Central Agencies.
Senior STF officials said that the accused is also wanted by Kashmir Police in relation to a case of cheating and forgery there and one non-bailable warrant is pending against him.

While speaking to the media, DGP Sunil Bansal said that the condition of the DSP is now stable. Following the encounter, forces have intensified combing operations in the area and the special operation is still continuing, he said.
As per the allegations, Jyotsna Ray, the lady Sub-Inspector posted at Mohana police station had initially taken a bribe of Rs 20,000 from one Prerit Majhi of Nudruj village on the pretext of releasing an auto-rickshaw that was seized on the charges of being used for ganja smuggling.
