The speculations about the likely coalition between the two parties have been going through a rollercoaster over the past one week since Prime Minister Narendra Modi attended a meeting on March 5 at Chandikhole; where Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik was present and their mutual gestures sent a signal of bonhomie.
The growing dissidence in the Biju Janata Dal (BJD) is emerging as a headache for the conch party.
Ahead of the elections, cyber fraudsters reportedly got into their usual act. To deceive people, they allegedly feed and float misinformation on social media. These posts are allegedly meant to commit financial scams. Many fall into fraudsters’ scheme of things and unsuspectingly allow themselves to bleed financially.
Speculations about a possible BJP-BJD coalition started after Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s meeting at Chandikhole. Amid this, a statement by the ruling BJD leader Parsuram Dhada has further added the grist to the mill.
As per the allegations, tonnes of khandolite stones are being extracted from the mine every day and the stones are being used for Srimandir Parikrama project, infrastructure development and renovation of Maa Tarini temple, Sri Lingaraj temple, Samalei temple and Ma Biraja temple.
The statement of senior BJD leader Prasanna Acharya that coalition politics is nothing new for Odisha has added fuel to the ongoing speculations over alliance with BJP.

Ahead of the elections, the Odisha cabinet has been approving various proposals on remunerations, salaries, cadre restructuring, and promotion and post-retirement benefits of staff in various departments
Amid the suspense on the alliance, Manmohan Samal, organizational secretary Manas Mohanty, Odisha in-charge Vijaypal Singh Tomar, and co-in-charge Lata Usendi left for New Delhi in the evening.
MLA Pratap Jena said, “Elections are coming. I told you(people at the meeting) one thing five years ago. Do you remember if that prediction came true? Today, I also predict one thing and you note it down. Prashant Behera will come out with flying colours at least by a margin of 50,000 votes in the coming elections.”
AAP's national convenor Arvind Kejriwal had appointed Delhi minister Saurabh Bhardwaj as the party's in-charge for Odisha.
Gopalpur MLA and BJP leader, Pradeep Panigrahi on Saturday countered Nrusingha Charan Sahu’s remark that the BJD will win over 110 seats, saying the BJP will fight alone and form government in Odisha.
