The assets of BJD’s Choudwar-Cuttack candidate Souvic Biswal were valued at Rs 20.68 lakh in 2019, but in the last five years, his assets grew to Rs 5.4 crore reflecting an increase of 23 times.    

While a rally was underway, an SUV of a former sarpanch namely Dillip Behera allegedly ran into the crowd, injuring a BJD supporter and damaging four motorcycles. BJD candidate Pranab Balabantray was present at the rally.

BJP National Vice President and party’s Kendrapara Lok Sabha candidate Baijayant Panda termed CM Naveen Patanik's allegations as baseless and said, "I have joined politics not to accumulate assets. Lord Jagannath has given us enough. I am here to work for the people.”

Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma criticized the BJD government in Odisha at an election rally, highlighting poor governance, job migration and lack of employment. He promised that BJP would create jobs while attacking BJD leader VK Pandian for monopolising power with his spouse.

BJP leader Pradip Purohit accused the BJD of cheating Odisha's farmers, citing unfulfilled promises like marriage assistance and incomplete cold storages. He highlighted his party's commitments to enhance farmers' incomes and infrastructure if elected.

Six people were injured in post-election violence in Bedpur, Banki, involving BJD and Congress supporters. Additionally, tension escalated in Pipili after an attack on an MLA's vehicle. Road blockades and police actions followed the incidents.

Odisha's Chief Electoral Officer ordered an investigation against Chhendipada MLA Sushant Behera for allegedly attacking a BJP worker during polling in Angul district. The CEO demands a report within 24 hours following viral video evidence of the altercation.

Ahead of the fourth and final phase of elections in Odisha slated on June 1, the BJD is reportedly tense over defending its stronghold in the coastal region against a rising BJP. After Nimapara MLA Samir Dash joined the BJP, the BJD has sent 16 leaders as observers to counter his influence in the Assembly seat.

Post the third phase of elections in Odisha, BJP, BJD, and Congress have started claiming potential victory and government formation. BJD's Naveen Patnaik is confident despite challenges, while BJP has cited increased support and high-profile visits as success factors. Conversely, Congress has positioned itself as an alternative amidst higher polling percentages.

In Bhubaneswar, a three-tier security system and CCTV surveillance have been made for the EVMs stored for the upcoming vote count on June 4. Police Commissioner Sanjeeb Panda detailed extensive measures including vehicle checks in Cuttack and Bhubaneswar, and the deployment of multiple platoons of armed forces in and around BJB Colege.

Former Odisha BJP president KV Singh Deo accused the state's government of suppressing 24 Commission of Inquiry reports over 25 years. He announced that the BJP which is going to secure a two-thirds majority will disclose these reports and address past issues like the mining scam and chit-fund mismanagement.
