Pradeep Pattanayak

BJP National Vice President and party’s Kendrapara Lok Sabha candidate Baijayant Panda on Monday responded to Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik from the dais of the election meeting at Patkura in Kendrapara.

'In Politics to Serve People'

Terming the allegations levelled by the CM as baseless, Panda said, “I don’t like to blame him for that because he has been in the Tamil Babu’s thrall and he speaks what he is prompted by the Tamil Babu. I would like to inform Naveen Babu that my family has been in business since Biju uncle’s time. No one brought such allegations. I have joined politics not to accumulate assets. Lord Jagannath has given us enough. I am here to work for the people.”

'We will Get the Ratna Bhandar Key'

Sharpening his attack, he said, “Rather you should inspect the assets of the five Tamilians whom the Tamil Babu has sold away the entire Odisha in the name of 5T and get the money back from them and return it to Odia people. Why the electricity generated in Odisha is priced at higher rates as compared to what is being sold to Tamil Nadu. Ask your five Tamilians when they will return the key of Lord Jagannath’s Ratna Bhandar. Or else, after forming the government here on June 10, we will get them from Tamil Nadu by any means.”

'Want Assam-Like Law and Order Situation in Odisha'

“The development that has taken place in Assam after Himanta Biswa Sarma became Chief Minister is required in Odisha. Hooliganism and crimes like violence against women and rape and murder of minor girls are being reported here. But in Assam, no one dares to commit such crimes because Himanta Bhai won’t allow anyone to go scot-free. You vote BJP to power here, there will be an Assam-like law and order situation here too,” he said at the meeting, which was graced by Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma.

'65,000 Government Vacancies will be Filled Up'

Referring to the unemployment situation in Odisha, he said “Lakhs of youths go out of the state in search of work. Every year, hundreds of families contact me for the rescue of their children. One of the several guarantees of Modiji is to fill up 65,000 vacant government jobs.  In the coming days, he will give appointments in 1.5 lakh government jobs.”

“Prior to the BJP government in Assam, there used to be an Odisha-like situation.  The Public Service Commission there was not giving appointments without bribes. After the formation of the BJP government and the state getting such a strong Chief Minister, the tainted employees were put behind bars and appointment letters for government jobs were handed out to lakhs of youths on an open stage. Not a single allegation was received. In Odisha, we want a government like that,” he said.
