As per the announcement, the passengers can now book a maximum of 12 tickets instead of six tickets in a month through a user ID which is not Aadhaar linked.

Though the Railways has come up with several initiatives to increase the travel experience by improving the facilities and infrastructure, it has now come up with an advisory asking people not to carry ‘extra luggage.’

The journey would take 18 days on an 8,000 km long circuit which will kick-start from Delhi.

The drive was launched ahead of the rise in demand for reserved train tickets due to resumption of long distance train services in the country in post-pandemic period.

As per reports, cooked meals on all trains of Indian Railways will be resumed by February 14, 2022. It is pertinent to mention here that the cooked meal service was stopped owing to Covid-19 restrictions since March 2020.

The IRCTC runs the Vande Bharat Express which travels from Delhi to Katra. It will be certified as 'sattvik'.

Shares of IRCTC on Friday tanked nearly 10 per cent in opening trade to Rs 822.40 apiece.

Out of the total 261 Ganapati special trains, the Central Railways will operate 201 trains, 42 trains by Western Railway while the Konkan Rail Corporation Limited (KRCL) will run 18 Ganapati special trains.

In a major development, the Indian Railways has now decided to revamp the booking codes used by passengers to reserve tickets for traveling in various categories of coaches operating in the network.

Passengers can order food on train by simply entering their travel details such as PNR number, Train name or seat/berth number
