The Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC), North Zone has invited applications for engagement as Apprentice Trainees (ITI holders) under the Apprenticeship Act-1961.

The engagement under the Apprenticeship Act in Computer Operator and Programming Assistant (COPA) trade/discipline will be for a period of one year as a measure of skill-building initiative for the nation.

While the application submission process began on October 7, the last date to apply is October 25, 2022.

Essential Qualification 

Passed Matriculation Examination with minimum 50% marks in aggregate from recognised Board. 

Technical Qualifications: ITI certificate affiliated to NCVT/SCVT is compulsory in COPA trade.

Age limit

Candidates applying should have completed 15 years and not have completed 25 years as on April 1, 2022.

There is relaxation for candidates- SC/ST 5 years, OBC 3 years, Ex-servicemen 10 years, Differently abled 10 years.

Selection Process

The selection of candidates will be based on the merit list prepared on the basis of percentage of marks obtained in matriculation examination. 

- In case of grading system of marking, then an average of highest and lowest marks will be taken. 

- In case of two applicants are having the same marks, applicants having older age shall be preferred. 

- In case the dates of birth are also same, then the applicants who passed matriculation exam earlier shall be considered first. 

- There will be no written test or viva, and applicants' final selection would be subject to verification of original testimonials. 

- Candidates in the stand-by list will be offered to join only on receipt of details of absentees and rejected candidates from the Merit list. 

"The offers will be issued strictly in the order of Merit. The tentative schedule will be advised through email only. Applicants are advised to be in readiness at short notice to report to concerned office for Document/ Certificate Verification," read the official notification.
