It's time to turn to the traditional ways that offer better and lasting effects to beat the heat this summer.
Odisha is set to witness hotter days during the next four days.
A total of eight sunstroke patients are undergoing treatment at different hospitals in Odisha with Angul alone reporting five such patients.
As per the MeT department, the maximum temperature is likely to be 39 degree C to 41 degree C in the interior parts and between 36 degree C and 38 degree C in coastal districts of the state.
It is good Samaritans who try their best to ensure that animals and birds do not face problems in getting water and food during the scorching heatwave conditions.
According to experts, heat cramps, and heat rashes usually occur during peak hours of the day between 11 am and 3 pm. Hence, all should take precautionary measures during peak hours.
Apart from the heat wave, the IMD has also issued a yellow warning for thunderstorms and heavy rainfall in several parts of the state in the coming days

Though the school timings have been revised and students now need to attend their classes from 7 am to 11:30 am, they are returning home in scorching heat conditions.
The School and Mass Education department directed all schools to strictly implement a water bell system to keep students and teachers hydrated this summer. A bell will be rung thrice – at 8.30 am, 10am and 11am to remind students about their water intake.
The districts that have been issued yellow warnings till April 6 are Bolangir, Keonjhar, Boudh, Malkangiri, Nayagarh and Angul.
There will be a gradual rise in the maximum temperature (Day Temperature) by 2 to 3°C during the next 3 days at a few places over the districts of Odisha and no large change is expected thereafter.
The maximum temperature is likely to be between 39 degrees and 41 degrees C at a few places over the districts of interior Odisha and between 36 to 38 degrees C over the coastal districts of Odisha during the next 4 to 5 days
The India Meteorological Department has warned that parts of India will witness extreme heatwave conditions during the months of April, May and June.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) said that normal to below normal maximum temperature is likely over some parts of western Himalayan region, North Eastern states and north Odisha during this hot weather season.
