As predicted by the India Meteorological Department (IMD), several parts of Odisha witnessed heat wave-like conditions with Boudh recording the highest maximum temperature of 41.8 degrees Celsius on Wednesday.

As per the IMD, 10 places in Odisha recorded a maximum temperature of 40 degrees and above.

Apart from Boudh, Malkangiri recorded a maximum temperature of 41.6, Titlagarh (41.5), Bolangir (41.5), Angul (41.3), Bhawanipatna (41), Nayagarh (40.6),  Sambalpur (40.4) and Talcher (40.4).

As per the weather forecast, there will be a gradual rise in the maximum temperature (Day Temperature) by 2 to 3°C during the next 3 days at a few places over the districts of Odisha and no large change is expected thereafter. The IMD has also issued a yellow warning for heat wave and warmer nights in several parts of Odisha.

Yellow Warning: Warm night condition very likely to prevail at one or two places over the districts of Bolangir, Kalahandi, Boudh, Malkangiri, Keonjhar.

Day 2 (Valid from 0830 hrs IST of 04.04.2024 to 0830 hrs IST of 05.04.2024)

Yellow Warning: Heat wave condition likely to prevail at one or two places over the districts of Nayagarh, Boudh, Kandhamal, Cuttack, Jajpur, Bhadrak.

Warm night condition very likely to prevail at one or two places over the districts of Bolangir, Kalahandi, Boudh, Malkangiri, Keonjhar, Kandhamal, Nayagarh.

Day 3 (Valid from 0830 hrs IST of 05.04.2024 to 0830 hrs IST of 06.04.2024)

Yellow Warning: Heat wave condition very likely to prevail at one or two places over the districts of Nayagarh, Boudh, Kandhamal, Cuttack, Jajpur, Bhadrak, Dhenkanal, Angul.

Day 4 (Valid from 0830 hrs IST of 06.04.2024 to 0830 hrs IST of 07.04.2024)

Yellow Warning: Heat wave condition very likely to prevail at one or two places over the districts of Nayagarh, Boudh, Kandhamal, Cuttack, Jajpur, Bhadrak, Dhenkanal, Angul.
