Low pressure forms over north BoB, gangetic West Bengal and coastal parts of Bangladesh: IMD

A low pressure area has formed over North Bay of Bengal and adjoining Coastal areas of Bangladesh and Gangetic West Bengal, informed the India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Friday.

As per IMD, the associated cyclonic circulation extends up to 7.6 km above mean sea level tilting south-westwards with height.

It is likely to move west-north-west wards across Gangetic West Bengal and Jharkhand during the next two days.

Meanwhile, the IMD has predicted heavy to very heavy rainfall (7 to 20 cm) at one or two places over the districts of Kendrapara, Jagatsinghpur, Cuttack, Dhenkanal, Bhadrak, Angul, Sambalpur, Bargarh, Deogarh, Keonjhar in 24 hours.

A yellow warning for heavy rainfall (7 to 11cm) has also been issued for one or two places over the districts of Mayurbhanj, Puri, Khordha, Sundargarh, Nayagarh, Boudh, Sonepur, Bolangir, Nuapada, Malkangiri, Koraput, Nabarangpur, Balasore, Jajpur, Jharsuguda.
