The clash between the residents of Durgaprasad and Deulapali took place last night during a procession taken out to celebrate Danda Jatra.

The mining town of Joda in Keonjhar district was put under prohibitory orders by the district administration after a group clash that broke out Monday saw many injured from both the factions.

Over 20 crude bombs were reportedly pelted during the act of violence which is said to be fallout of a clash between two warring groups in the village. 

Police said Jena has been booked under Arms Act and Section 307 of IPC.

While one group is supporter of the sitting MLA, the members of the other group are followers of a former MLA.

As per reports, two persons from one group visited the area at night and were questioned by other group members about the reason. Soon a scuffle broke out as other persons joined in. Three persons suffered head injuries in the clash and were rushed to a hospital in Cuttack. 

Tension erupted at Guma village of Belghar area in Kandhamal district after the supporters of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Biju Janata Dal (BJD) clashed over the selection of the Samiti member candidate.

Chintu was stabbed to death after an altercation ensued between two groups over some trivial issues at a food kiosk.

It may be noted that Dipu was allegedly hacked to death by the three accused following a heated exchange of words during the New Year-eve celebration on Dec 31 at Nuasahi in Sundarapada.

Dipu was admitted to the nearby hospital in critical condition. However, he succumbed to his injuries

While one of the injured was shifted to Kendrapara district headquarters hospital, two others were rushed to the SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack.  

It is worth mentioning here that on late Friday night violent clash broke out between two groups in Mancheswar police area of Bhubaneswar, leaving at least six persons injured.
