Farmers protest over lack of urea supply in Bargarh

Farmers in Bargarh district are facing a severe shortage of urea fertiliser, leading to growing unrest.

As per reports, several farmers in the district blocked as many as three fertilizer-laden trucks at Ghensh on Saturday, demanding an explanation for the unavailability of fertilizer at the public distribution system outlets.

The farmers have reportedly accused private dealers of hoarding and diverting large quantities of urea, forcing them to purchase fertiliser at inflated prices.

Expressing their strong dissatisfaction, the farmers claim that despite repeated demands, they are unable to obtain the necessary quantity of urea required for their crops. The situation became tense, prompting local Tehsildar and police officials to reach the spot and pacify the agitated farmers.
