A top crime branch official said on Saturday that the hackers are believed to have been holed up in Bengaluru as the trail of the cyber crime has been traced to the south Indian city.
Following the incident, the E&IT department has started sanitising people about cyber frauds. The department has also issued do’s and don’ts to be followed in case of WhatsApp phishing.
