So far, the STF has been successful in launching an intensive crackdown on several illegal activities including narcotics trade in different parts of Odisha.

As per STF, two drug peddlers- Jumesh Kumar Sahoo and Hemant Kumar Pradhan have been arrested during the raid following the assistance of Cuttack district police on Saturday evening.

As per senior police officials, the drug peddler, identified as Sarat Behera, was wanted in a narcotics case registered recently.

The peddler arrested from near Khordha-Jatni bypass, has been identified as Rakesh Samantaray, alias Raka.  As per reports, the accused hails from Andharua under Ranapur Police limits in Nayagrah District.

A massive haul of brown sugar weighing around 10.6 kg was seized from Phuladi area in Balasore on Friday.

As many as six persons, including the kingpin from Madhya Pradesh were arrested.

The Puri Police on Thursday seized property worth Rs 1 Cr belonging to incarcerated drug mafia Anirudh Jaisingh under the NDPS Act.

Since 2020, the STF, in the special drive against narcotic drugs, has seized more than 48 kg of brown sugar and more than 89 quintals 81 kg of ganja and arrested 122 drug peddlers.

As per the data revealed by the officials, more than five kilograms of brown sugar have been recovered while 30 drug dealers have been arrested by the Jaleswar Police in the last six months.
