The Special Task Force (STF) of Odisha Police in a joint operation with Khordha police nabbed a notorious drug peddler and seized 2.2 kg of brown sugar worth Rs 2 crore

The peddler arrested from near Khordha-Jatni bypass, has been identified as Rakesh Samantaray, alias Raka. 
As per reports, the accused hails from Andharua under Ranapur Police limits in Nayagrah District.

Kishore Panigrahi, SP, STF said, “The accused tried to threaten officers using a knife, and was overpowered tactfully without causing harm to anyone in the action. The knife along with two mobile phones was also seized from the accused, and further actions will be taken in connection with the same.” 

This year on October 1, a drug paddler identified as Sidhartha Nayak, 23, of Khordha district was arrested by the Special Task Force along with brown sugar worth Rs 1 crore along with one KTM motorcycle, and other incriminating materials. The weight of seized contraband was just over 1 kg.

The accused was forwarded to the court of Additional District & Sessions Judge, Khordha after registering a case under the NDPS Act, 1985.
