The peddler arrested from near Khordha-Jatni bypass, has been identified as Rakesh Samantaray, alias Raka.  As per reports, the accused hails from Andharua under Ranapur Police limits in Nayagrah District.

The accused hails from Panchkula, West Bengal and was presently staying at Masjidgali ( Arada Bazar) under Sahadevkhunta police limits.

On the basis of intelligence input, the STF team conducted a raid near the railway level crossing and seized brown sugar weighing 1.50 Kg from the possession of the drug peddler. 

The Special Task Force on Friday seized a huge haul of brown sugar worth over Rs 5 crore during a raid on the outskirts of Bhubaneswar. 

Senior officials said that 260 grams of brown sugar worth Rs 26 lakh has been seized from the possession of the drugs peddler.

The STF officials have also recovered brown sugar weighing 1227 gms worth over Rs 1 crore from the possession of the drugs peddler. A motorcycle, a mobile phone and other incriminating materials have also been seized from his possession.

Two persons identified as Ashok Yadav and Suraj Yadav have been arrested in this connection for peddling the banned substance
