Despite regular crackdowns by the police and Excise department officials, Illegal narcotic drugs trade continues to thrive in Balasore district which is fast turning into a hub for the trade of the contrabands.
In yet another major crackdown, Cuttack Excise Department and Balasore police conducted a joint raid at Bidyadharpur village under Basta block in the district on Thursday and seized two kg of brown sugar worth around Rs 2 crore.
