Asked about a persistent perception that if the BJD and the BJP will have a friendly match in the 2024 elections, Manmohan Samal termed it as baseless, saying that it is the conspiracy of the ruling party which is creating such a perception as part of its strategy to induce confusion among people. 

BJP National Vice-President Baijayant 'Jay' Panda today credited Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership for the superb performance of the saffron party in the Hindi heartland states of Chhattisgarh, Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh.

In the morning, just when the counting of votes began in the four states and initial trend showed Congress leading, many enthusiastic workers dressed in traditional attires thronged to the party headquarter here.

The Congress, which is in power in Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh, and the BJP, which is ruling Madhya Pradesh, are locked in a straight fight in these three states, while K Chandrashekhar Rao-led Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) is hoping for a hat-trick in Telangana.

The opposition BJP and Congress, apart from regular reviews of their organizational matters, have started brainstorming on major issues on which they can attack the ruling party and the dispensation.

 Ahead of the 2024 elections, the grand old party, which has been out of power in Odisha for the last 24 years, received a shot in its arm with the joining of Pangi but simultaneously received a setback after its veteran leader Gyana Beura crossed over to BJP.

A report on unemployment in the country was published by the Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation on Wednesday in which it was stated that the scenario of unemployment in Odisha is alarming, the BJP leader said.
