Koraput district is in the southern part of Odisha bordering to Andhra Pradesh .It is a home to many primitive tribes .Located in the Eastern Ghats Covered with thick forests and dotted by pristine waterfalls and deep valleys, Koraput, in Odisha, is a natural retreat with a languid pace of life. The region also has rich mineral deposits; including aluminum ore, manganese, and limestone. The Engine division and Sukhoi division of the aircraft manufacturing company Hindustan Aeronautics Limited, a public sector undertaking of Ministry of Defence is in Sunabeda of Koraput district. The Gupteshwar limestone cave temple on Ramgiri Hill and the Duduma and Bagra waterfalls are nearby add more importance to the district. The area was under the Chola kings in the 10th and 11th centuries.
Reportedly the OSAP had lodged a complaint with the town police on Monday stating that Deepak was missing. Following the complaint, the Town police had launched an investigation and tracked down his phone location. They finally found Deepak’s body hanging from a tree in a decomposed state.

A day after the Odisha and Andhra Pradesh governments agreed to set up an institutional mechanism to deliberate on various issues gripping the states including the contentious border dispute at Kotia, an all-political party meeting was held today in Koraput to bolster the roadmap for Odisha's efforts in resolving the row.
