In yet another brazen display of intrusion, officials of the neighbouring state reportedly conducted a mega public relations camp at Neredibalsa village under Kotia Gram Panchayat.

In the film titled ‘Extraordinary Man’, Andhra reportedly tried to give the impression to its audience that Kotia does not belong to Odisha, at the same time sidelining the claim of Odisha. As per the movie, Kotia was in Odisha during British rule, but it merged with Andhra after Independence.

Throwing the constitutional and legal provisions to the wind, Andhra officials conducted a government programme at Neridibalsa under Kotia Panchayat.

Triggering a fresh controversy, the officials of Andhra government from Parvathipuram Manyam district visited the region and held discussions with the locals in Phagunascenery and Phatuscenery.

Andhra Deputy CM’s intrusion in Odisha's Phatu Senari and Phaguna Senari areas along with such statements and praise certainly indicates that the neighbouring state is trying to mislead people.

The AP government reportedly snapped the electricity after learning that the school is run by the Odisha government. To make matter worse, the solar system installed by the Odisha government in the school has been lying defunct.

Odisha and Andhra Pradesh have identified the same location in Kotia to set up a hydroelectric plant.

In a major administrative overhaul aimed at decentralisation of governance and balanced development, Andhra Pradesh on Monday created 13 new districts taking the total number of provinces in the State to 26.

A day after the Odisha and Andhra Pradesh governments agreed to set up an institutional mechanism to deliberate on various issues gripping the states including the contentious border dispute at Kotia, an all-political party meeting was held today in Koraput to bolster the roadmap for Odisha's efforts in resolving the row.

The meeting between Naveen and Jagan was termed as ‘very cordial and fruitful’ and a number of issues of mutual interest were discussed by the two CMs

Both Andhra Pradesh and Odisha have been claiming their sovereign rights over the area, which consists of 27 small tribal hamlets on the border.

Koraput Collector Abdaal Akhtar said that no one will be allowed to disrupt elections in the region. "If anyone will try to create disturbance during polls or try to stop people from exercising their franchise, we will take stern action against the person," he said.

Two days back, the officials of Salur Mandal in Andhra Pradesh had conducted a gram sabha at Ganjeipadar and tried to lure villagers by assuring them that the Andhra government will take up several development projects in the region.
