Koraput district is in the southern part of Odisha bordering to Andhra Pradesh .It is a home to many primitive tribes .Located in the Eastern Ghats Covered with thick forests and dotted by pristine waterfalls and deep valleys, Koraput, in Odisha, is a natural retreat with a languid pace of life. The region also has rich mineral deposits; including aluminum ore, manganese, and limestone. The Engine division and Sukhoi division of the aircraft manufacturing company Hindustan Aeronautics Limited, a public sector undertaking of Ministry of Defence is in Sunabeda of Koraput district. The Gupteshwar limestone cave temple on Ramgiri Hill and the Duduma and Bagra waterfalls are nearby add more importance to the district. The area was under the Chola kings in the 10th and 11th centuries.
As Nuagaon, Kotia and Galligadar areas are full of minerals, it is alleged that Andhra Pradesh government wants to take these areas under its possession. That’s why it has started soil testing survey.
While customers are reportedly paying Rs 103.47 per litre of petrol in the Capital city, diesel is available at Rs 95.03 a litre.
As per a fuel rate chart, petrol is being sold at the highest price of Rs 108.91 in Malkangiri.
Unabated road mishaps and the spike in death rates have turned into a major concern for the Odisha government. As per the Central government's Road accident in India 2020 report, in comparison to 2019, the death rates have reduced in 2022, however, during lockdown and shutdown even around 9817 accidents were reported.
The identities of the deceased are yet to be ascertained. All the injured have been admitted to a local hospital.

The officials of the neighbouring state have intensified their actions after the Chief Secretary of Odisha, Suresh Mohapatra visited the disputed region to analyse the situation.
They were immediately admitted to a nearby hospital and later shifted to Koraput District Headquarters hospital as their condition deteriorated. However, they succumbed to their injuries during treatment
