Naik was recently transferred from Keonjhar district headquarters to Nandipada police station. However, his body was found floating in a pond located in front of the police station on Tuesday morning.
The mishap occurred in the wee hours of Wednesday at Sathighar Sahi near National Highway 20 passing through Keonjhar.
As per initial reports, Satyabhama was been allegedly stoned to death by some unidentified miscreants. Source said, Satyabhama was a former samiti member and was also vice president of Pandapada mandal for the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
