Odisha school headmaster arrested for misbehaving with girl students
The headmaster of Dimiria Upper Primary school in Telkoi block of Keonjhar district has been arrested for allegedly misbehaving with the girl students of the school.
The headmaster, identified as Narayan Senapati, has been arrested based on the complaints lodged by as many as 12 girl students.
According to the complaint, Senapati used to call the class seven and class eight students to his office on several pretexts and misbehave with them.
The matter came to the fore after the victim students narrated the incident to their parents, sources said.
Irate over the incident, the parents gheraoed the school and demanded action against the headmaster. On being informed about the incident, additional block education officer and police reached the spot and arrested the headmaster based on the complaint lodged by the students.
However, Senapati claimed the allegations as baseless.
“The complaints are baseless. You can ask the women staff about my personality. I treat the students as my own children,” said Senapati.
Meanwhile, Senapati, who was booked under Sec 364(A), 8 and 10 of the POCSO act, has been forwarded to court.
