Suspension of ex-Kendrapara SP extended
Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government on Saturday extended the suspension of Odisha cadre IPS officer and former Kendrapara SP Satish Gajbhiye by 95 days.
The decision of the state government came through a notification from the Home department.
Notably, the state government had placed Gajbhiye under suspension on August 13, 2015 for indiscriminately using excess force against the agitating locals near Sarathi Baba ashram of Kendrapara on August 7.
The state government was forced to take the action as there was a statewide protest demanding stern action against him for his brutal action in gross violation of human rights.
Apart from this, the corrupt practices of against Gajbhiye was also brought to the fore as he was found taking possession of a huge tract of land in the name of his wife in Nimapara in Puri district.
