Family denies CBI charges against ex-IMMT director

Bhubaneswar: A day after the CBI raid on the house of Goa IIT director and former director of IMMT, Bhubaneswar, Baradakant Mishra, the family today denied the charges made in the FIR of central probe agency.

The family of Mishra said they will move court against the CBI action as this is a conspiracy of some vested interest groups.

“I will consult legal experts in this regard. The charges are either made inadvertently in the FIR or it is a conspiracy hatched by some vested interest groups. The allegations are false and fabricated”, alleged Dhanadananda Mishra, younger brother of Baradakanta.

“The process of investigation turned out to be a punishment for our family. So, I request the inquiry agency to expedite the probe and unearth the truth”, he added.

The CBI conducted raids on office of IIT Goa, the house of Mishra at Surya Nagar in Bhubaneswar and the IMMT here. The raiding team found documents related to wealth worth Rs  1.14 crore, which were allegedly disproportionate to Mishra’s known source of income.

The CBI also registered a case against Mishra under anti-corruption law.
