Bolangir: Liquor salesman succumbs to bullet injury

Bolangir: A liquor shop salesman, who was critical after being shot at by miscreants, succumbed to his injuries while being shifted to SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack from Bolangir here on Friday.

The deceased has been identified as Santosh Sahu while another person Jitu is still battling for life at Burla medical.

Both Santosh and Jitu were injured in a firing by three miscreants inside a foreign liquor shop at Gandhinagarpada on Thursday.

Police said, the accused had fired at the salesman for terrorize the shop owner to extort Rs 20,000.

Preliminary investigation reveals that Jitu is the associate of Abhisekh Dora and Golu Sahu, the prime accused in the firing incident. Both Golu and Abhisekh have been arrested by Bolangir police in connection with the incident.

A mouser and empty shell have also been recovered from the duo. Several cases pertaining to loot and dacoity are pending against Abhisekh at various police stations while his involvement in few other cases is also being verified.
