Actress Upsana files ‘casting couch’ case against producer Rajesh Pati
Bhubaneswar: A few days after producer Rajesh Ranjan Pati levelled black mailing charges against actress Upasana Mohanty, the latter hit back filing a police complaint at the Laxmisagar police station against the producer accusing him of making a ‘casting couch’ attempt on her.
Talking to OTV after filing the case, Mohanty said, “He (Pati) made a casting couch bid on me. I was tolerating everything earlier because I was new to the film industry. However, when he levlled false allegations against me, I decided to speak out.”
She added, “As evidence, I can show you the chat messages in which he personally asked me to go outside without taking my parents along. He even proposed to marry me and asked crew members of the film in which I was working to convince me to agree. He also said if this does not work, he will use black magic to get me. He cried in front of crew members in Hyderabad during shootings. Once, he tugged at my hands on the set asking me not to talk to anyone else.”
Asked why she was silent till now, Mohanty said, “I thought not to take it forward as it would have hampered my career and social prestige.”
“He gave me money through bank transaction. I have got Rs 30,000 only out of Rs 1.5 lakh as per the contract amount,” she said refuting the claims of getting Rs 35 lakh.
Participating in a discussion with Upasana on OTV later in the day, Rajesh denied her allegation. “Ours was an emotional relationship. If I did a casting couch on her, why was she silent all these days?” he asked.
