24 MTPA Integrated Steel Plant To Be Set Up In Odisha’s Kendrapara

A high-level clearance authority of the Odisha government headed by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Friday approved the proposal made by Arcelor Mittal Nippon Steel to set up a 24 MTPA integrated Steel plant in Mahakalpara Block of Kendrapara district.

The project, which will reportedly come up at an investment of Rs 1,02,275 crore and is expected to be the largest steel plant in the country, is likely to generate employment opportunities for 16,000 people.

Orissa HC Rejects Former BJD MLA Pravat Tripathy's Petition To Quash CBI FIR

30 Injured As Tourist Bus Overturns In Kandhamal's Kalinga Ghati

At least 30 persons were injured after a bus carrying in which they were travelling overturned on the Kalinga Ghati under G.Udayagiri police limits in Kandhamal district on Thursday night.

The injured have been admitted to the MKCG Medical College and Hospital in Berhampur, Phulbani District Head Quarters Hospital and G.Udayagiri Government Hospital.

According to reports, the tourist bus named 'Ranit' carrying around 60 passengers from Haldia in West Bengal had come to Daringbadi for a picnic.

The mishap took place when the ill-fated bus was on its way to Puri from Daringbadi. The driver lost control over the vehicle and it overturned on the Kalinga ghat road near Andharkot.

On being informed, police and fire services personnel rushed to the spot and rescued the passengers.
