The last date for admission into first-year engineering courses in Odisha has been extended to December 31 for 2021– 2022 academic session. Earlier, the admission deadline was till December 15.
As per reports, Odisha Private Engineering College Association (OPEC) had filed a plea to the High Court of Odisha and then it moved Supreme Court of India urging for an extension of the deadline to Engineering courses admissions.
OPEC in its petition reportedly stated that the deadline for the admission to engineering colleges in the state last year was kept until December 31. However this year's deadline was till December 15.
After hearing the plea, the Supreme Court on Thursday agreed to extend the admissions deadline till December 31.
“The last date of admission to engineering colleges has been extended till December 31 for the current academic year. Students seeking admission in lateral entry or 1st year to the engineering courses can now approach colleges till the extended date.” informed the secretary of OPEC, Binod Das.
