The India Meteorological Department (IMD) predicted moderate rain and thunderstorm activities in several parts of Odisha in the next couple of days.

The weather bureau has also issued a ‘Yellow Warning’ for thunderstorm and lightning in several districts of the State.

“Dense fog very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Gajapati, Ganjam, Khurda, Puri, Nayagarh and Kandhamal in the next 24 hours,” said IMD.

As per IMD, the minimum (night) temperature is very likely to rise by 2 to 3 degree Celsius during next two days and it is very likely to fall again gradually by 3 to 4 degrees from February 5.

Day-1 (valid upto 0830 hrs IST of 03.02.2022)

Yellow Warning (Be prepared): Dense fog is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Gajapati, Ganjam, Khordha,Puri, Nayagarh and Kandhamal.

Day-2 (valid from 0830 hrs IST of 03.02.2022 up to 0830 hrs IST of 04.02.2022)

Yellow Warning (Be prepared): Thunderstorm with lighting is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Bargarh, Sambalpur, Deogarh, Keonjhar and Mayurbhanj.

Day-3 (valid from 0830 hrs IST of 04.02.2022 up to 0830 hrs IST of 05.02.2022)

Yellow Warning (Be prepared): Thunderstorm with lighting is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Bargarh, Sambalpur, Deogarh, Angul, Dhenkanal, Keonjhar and Mayurbhanj.

Hailstorm is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Sundargarh, Deogarh, Angul, Dhenkanal, Jajpur, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Balasore and Bhadrak.
