Light to moderate rainfall under the influence of western disturbance is likely to lash several parts of Odisha from February 3, the Bhubaneswar-based regional centre of the India Meteorological Department (IMD) predicted on Sunday.

According to a bulletin issued by the weather office, light to moderate rain or thundershower is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of north interior Odisha and Sonepur and dry weather is very likely to prevail over the rest of the districts of Odisha, the weather office said in a bulletin. 

Meanwhile, cold wave conditions continued to sweep several parts of the State with mercury plummeting below 10 degree Celsius in at least 10 stations of Odisha in the last 24 hours.

Phulbani Town in Kandhamal district became the coldest place in the State as the mercury dipped to 6.2 degree Celsius on Saturday followed by Keonjhar with 6.4 degree Celsius.

Other places which recorded temperature below 10 degree Celsius are Daringbadi (7), Jharsuguda (7.6), Sonepur (7.9), Boudh (8.5), Bhawanipatna (9.0), Koraput (9.0), Hirakud (9.6) and Bolangir 9.5 degree Celsius.
