A shocking incident occurred at one of the prestigious engineering colleges in Bhubaneswar when a frog was found in the food given to the students in its hostel. The incident grabbed the limelight when a social media user shared a related picture on his social media account and as expected it triggered serious reactions expressing concerns for the students.
Not surprisingly, the moment this post went viral, several netizens came up with similar experiences confirming the fact that the quality of food served at the hostels is indeed very poor and can even affect the health of the students. A user on X wrote, "This is KIT Bhubaneswar, ranked ~42 among engineering colleges in India, where parents pay approx 17.5 lakhs to get their child an engineering degree. This is the food being served at the college hostel..."
Instead of targeting the college directly, the user hinted at the name and hence wrote KIT instead of KIIT Engineering College. But it is quite obvious that he is hinting at KIIT college as he has confirmed in the follow-up tweets.
Ayush I have intentionally kept the name wrong, and why? thoda brainstorm kar lo :)

Then we wonder why students from India migrate to other countries for… pic.twitter.com/QmPaz4mD82
He didn't stop as he added that it is the reason why students immigrate to different countries for better facilities and education. Further updating his post, the user penned, “So, this is the value of human life. The hostel where the frog was served, at Bhubaneswar University, in an attempt to do damage control, decided to deduct only one day's payment from the mess provider company! Just wow.”
So, the authorities decided to deduct one day's payment from the mess service provider as a solution to this issue. 🥲 https://t.co/HbY6jZAIIp

While more reactions are pouring in from other social media users regarding this incident, the college management has taken action by issuing a notice to the vendors who provide food to the hostel.
Meanwhile, many students tagged this tweet on X and shared their reactions saying that they too have faced similar situations and there is nothing new about it at the institution.
42 is nirf rank it's not even worth it. This college charges almost like 22 nowadays and also some extra charges

Can't even explain how bad it is.
Unhygienic on some other level. One of the most expensive colleges in India.
Still fails to provide the basic necessities.
The users also lambasted the management for not taking strong action alleging that it is a pathetic situation as the management does not have any value for the life of the students.
Another user wrote alleging that the food served in the hostel is worse and can lead to diarrhea if eaten regularly whereas one user commented that he experienced the same thing and after that did not eat at the hostel for the entire semester.
