India’s National Anthem, ‘Jana Gana Mana ...’ has been serving as an expression of national identity since its adoption and demonstrates patriotism and respect for the motherland. While highlighting the national heritage, the anthem underlines the importance of India.

Insult to any of the national symbols of the country is prohibited in any manner. Dishonouring the symbols is regarded as contempt of the Indian Constitution, and violators can face imprisonment, fines, or both.

Recently, a video has surfaced on social media in which two girls are seen reciting the national anthem, 'Jana Gana Mana...,' weirdly while sitting on bed and laughing and clapping frequently.

Moreover, one of the girls is also seen holding a cigarette in her hand and pronouncing the lines in an aggressive way. Meanwhile, the second girl snatches away the cigarette and compares it with the national flag.

Though towards the end of the video the first girl demands an apology, such activities have fumed the netizens.

The video shared on Twitter by Anupam Bhattacharjee has been retweeted massively with people demanding stern action against the girls. Moreover, users also lashed out at the girls as well as their parents.
