Cracking UPSC, one of India’s toughest exams is not everyone’s cup of tea. But, IPS Simala Prasad successfully cleared the all-India level exam on her very first attempt and that too without any formal coaching.

Well, you read that right! The IPS officer of 2010 batch rightfully cracked the toughest exam with sheer dedication and hard work. Born in October 1980 in Bhopal, Simala Prasad is currently posted in Madhya Pradesh.

After completing her education from St Joseph School, she did her B.Com and later went on to pursue Post Graduation in sociology from Barkatullah University, Bhopal.

After her studies, she appeared for the MP PSC exam of the Madhya Pradesh Public Service Commission. She had qualified for the exam and was posted as DSP. However, she wanted to be an IPS officer and started preparations for the same even as she was doing her duty regularly.

She started preparing for UPSC just by self-studying and did not take any coaching. Subsequently, the talented and bright officer cracked the exam on her first attempt. There are only a few IPS and IAS officers who have cracked the toughest exam on their first attempt and Simala is one among them.

This apart, she has also worked in Bollywood movies such as Alif (2017) and Nakkash (2019). She was seen as a journalist in the movie Nakkash while she played the character of Shammi in Alif.

She is also an avid social media user and has around 10.9K followers on the photo-sharing platform.
